Novartis beat teriflunomide in two Phase 3 MS trials and halted eight autoimmune CAR-T studies in the same week — one company posting its best result and one of its worst within days — while, in Washington, a nine-company most-favored-nation pricing-and-tariff bargain and UnitedHealthcare’s prior-authorization retreat reshaped the market around it. Today’s top developments:

What to Watch
- Remibrutinib’s actual numbers — Novartis released no annualized relapse rates, hazard ratios or disability-progression magnitudes, and beat only teriflunomide. The conference data and the class’s liver-enzyme safety detail, not the topline, decide whether it competes with high-efficacy anti-CD20 therapy or slots in below it.
- FDA response to the CAR-T pauses — Novartis and Bristol Myers acted voluntarily, without a formal clinical hold. The open question is whether the FDA converts these pauses into a class-wide review of autoimmune CAR-T, and whether peers such as Cabaletta and Kyverna surface IEC-HS cases of their own.
- Tariff exemptions as MFN currency — UCB, BeOne and BridgeBio obtained Section 232 relief alongside their pricing commitments. The tell will be whether that trade becomes the standard template, and whether any signatory discloses the actual Medicaid price changes.
- GSK’s Phase 3 flu endpoints — GSK’s dual-antigen mRNA candidate enters Phase 3 in late September with no Phase 2 immunogenicity figures yet public. The endpoint design is what matters: whether GSK powers for transmission or severity, the only way the neuraminidase rationale is tested rather than assumed.
- IRA redesign’s second-order effects — PBM-affiliated private-label biosimilars are conspicuously absent from their own creators’ Part D formularies, a measurable case of catastrophic-phase liability reshaping formulary behavior against expectation. The markers to track are CMS acknowledgement and whether 2027 formularies correct the anomaly.
